I'm Really Here

Well....Lesley certainly came up with a truly splendid guesthouse in Buenos Aires.....
Ha ha...this is not it! It's the golden gallery of the Teatro de Colon; apparently an opera house with totally perfect acoustics - according to Luciano Pavarotti.
So, I arrived in Buenos Aires at 8.30 a.m. on 3rd Feb having had a very good night's sleep on the flight from Heathrow. I was at the Casa de Gerard - the very sweet guesthouse - by 10.30 and out doing ultimo turismo by 12.15. The Patagonia beer and ham and cheese medialuna (filled croissant) went down a treat in the theatre snack bar.
I have to admit to arriving to RAIN...but it's the warm variety - and actually wandering BAs in the low 20s is probably preferable to the recent 40s. But, as the forecast seems to be for more of the overcast/damp variety...Lesley and I may just head west a little sooner than planned. But before that, I'm determined to see her in tango-action and enjoy the benefits of a good exchange rate from dollar to peso...

  2. I am on your blog as you can see. Thanks for the rolling info - it's good to know your whereabouts and to see some pics. Since that was NOT the guest house - can you show us a photo of your residence? We have cold, grey and wet weather here - so glad you have escaped to warmer climes. Will keep in touch. Much love.
